Art Show 2013

Our preschool does an Art Show each year in January.
This year it was on big sis' birthday and we made it a family event.
She was so proud and knew we were there to see her creations!

She was so proud and so were we!
She has also had an art show at home a few times since! Priceless!

I need to look back a few years and find brother in this very rocket!
So thankful for our Christ centered preschool that values arts and celebrates with the children!

Fun Day!

Birthdays are special.
They are your one special day and everything should go your way.
You should feel different all day long.
Well this is how it is at our house anyway!

Today was big sis' birthday and we celebrated all day long!

We started with cinnamon buns and presents!

I think she liked the attention!

Brother is so thoughtful and wanted to pick her present out himself.
Yep, he - our Pirate / Tar Heel loving boy - bought a NC State bear for her!

Lil sis was pretty proud too!

After a few songs on the phone it was off to school!

Momma meet her for a surprise lunch and doughnuts to share with her friends.

It was such a beautiful day we ate outside!

Then shared doughnuts inside!

Then the real treat came...I got to follow her up to her classroom and listen to her read her special week chart.  This was planned around her birthday!  She is so creative, confident and beautiful!

Daddy picked the older two up early for lil sis' Art Show (next post!) and then home for presents with grandparents.

Then came the cake.  She requested an Orange Creamsicle Cake like a cousin had made at Christmas.  I wasn't sure about this but it was amazing!

Every girl needs nine horses on her cake right?

Dream big baby girl, dream big!

After cake  and some visiting out can the new Lego set!

What a fun day celebrating our first born.
She brings such  joy to our family.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.” James 1:17

Our Baby Girl is NINE!

 A Daughter

A daughter is a wonderful blessing,
A treasure from above.
She's laughter, warmth and special charm,
She's thoughtfulness and love.

A daughter brings a special joy,
That comes from deep inside.
And as she grows to adulthood,
She fills your heart with pride.

With every year that passes,
She's more special than before.
Through every stage, though every age,
You love her even more.

No words can describe the warm memories,
The pride and gratitude, too.
That comes from having a daughter,
To love and to cherish...just like you!

(This is just a sample of her artwork!)

I will never forget the first time I saw these beautiful brown eyes...4:19 PM on January 29th, 2004.

Party Time!

It seems like winter weather has followed big sis since the day she was due to arrive.
We've cut celebrations short, rescheduled one and prayed hard for each year's party.
This year was no exception!
Yesterday we got just enough snow/freezing rain to turn the roads into ice rinks!
Thankfully it was warmer today and her party was planned for 2 PM!

Grandma and Aunt Anne Marie didn't brave the weather but were able to get the present for her.  She has not stopped talking about this year's American Girl doll since she read about her.  They do seem to have so many things in common...horses and art at the top of the lists

Saige even came to the party!

She picked a pottery painting place for her party this year.
She could invite eight girls and she selected carefully.

It was the calmest, quietest party ever!
The girls just worked away!

One friend got sick last minute so lil sis stepped in her seat!

And not Foster party is complete without my dear friend's help!

She was so happy it was her time in the spotlight!

And cupcakes,

and presents!

It was awesome watching our big girl enjoy her friends!

3 Years 6 Months

Our baby girl is three and a half years of spunky sweetness!
She is beautiful inside and out!
She is full of life and loves completely.
She enjoys talking and has a vivid imagination!
She loves to "create" artwork...often requiring more time cleaning than creating!

She has her own style and wears it well!

She plays hard and prays often.
Music is her love language!

Playing with her babies and playing school are her other favorite activities.
She is fearless at gymnastics.
She gives the best hugs ever!

Holiday

When the children were in preschool "holiday" meant missed school.
Now that we're deep into elementary school it means a day off!!!
It was an awesome day to be off too!
After several  hours of relaxing at home we took off on a momma adventure.
Recently brother told  me I was more boring than daddy. Somehow the conversation of do you like clean clothes? food? school supplies?  didn't change his mind so I might have been trying to prove a small point.  Momma can be fun too!

We started at a park that has a trail to the lake.
This was honestly the first time I remember lil sis showing caution of any kind!

Then we went to another park that has a huge hill (well it used to be a landfill so I guess large mound of trash is more accurate!) with a gravel path.  We had never walked up but I'd been told the view was amazing.  We were amazed.  It was beautiful!!

 I love being their momma.
I love taking the day off from routines to soak them up!
Now to do it more often!!
