Winter Break 2013

 

 

 

Throughout the  year we do lots of fun activities as a family but winter break is the one I look forward to the most.  We found a resort in SC that has condo style rooms and two water parks...30,000 feet to be exact!!  Just the five of us away from the day to day "stuff".  This year I only packed bathing suits and sweats for the children and I.  Daddy does leave the resort a few times to get yummy meals so he needed a bit more.  This is three glorious nights filled a lot of fun!

 

 

This year we got to SC in time to enjoy Day 1 fully.

 

Lil sis' air mattress had a nice view!

 

Our days were filled with ...

 

feeding seagulls,

 

 relaxing,

 

splashing, 



 

playing ball,

 

more relaxing,

sliding, 

 



floating, 

 

face (or arm!) painting,

 

shell searching,

 

smiling,

 

and trying to resist the water!!

Life is Good!

No beach vacation is complete without a night walk on the beach!

 



 

Until we meet again...

 

 

On our way home we stopped by the battleship.

We have taken a photo here every 12-18 months since the summer of 2004.

School Play

 

The Fine Arts Department at our elementary school is beyond words.

There is a preformance scheduled each year to build up their appreication, ability and interest.

Big sis really likes doing these and learns all solos and lines...but will not participate!

She is happy being in the big group and participating without attention on her!

We could not be more proud of her!!

 

 

 

 

Picture Day

 

Picture day should cause drama for a three year old right? Wrong!

Lil sis was not going to wear a "church dress" to preschool and momma was going to have her wear something smocked.  SO I pulled out this princess dress I was saving for warmer weather.

This way I won and she was pleased!

NC Snow!

 

Brother had been praying for snow so he could sled.

Last year we got proper attire and nothing fell and this year was looking to be a repeat.

Then the snow came and was perfect...lasted a day and gone!

We packed up our gear and went to the big hill at church.

The children had fun, the roads were fine and it was gone for Monday!

 

 

Knights

Today was the last basketball game of the season.

Both brother and sister have really enjoyed playing!
Our Saturday mornings have been interesting but we wouldn't have it any other way!

 

 

Their biggest cheerleader being her silly self!

Seriously?!?  There isn't a sweeter face around!

 

I am so proud of our two Knights.

They have played hard and learned a few Biblical concepts to carrying onto the court  and into life.

Thankful heart.

LOVE

We try to focus on the important holidays and share the meaning with the children.

Until they were around Valentine's Day was a nice reason for dinner out (always on the 13th to avoid crowds!) and to eat chocolate!  Once big sis got preschool age it took on a whole new meaning.

It has been neat to teach them about the greatest love ever...the love we recieve freely from our heavenly Father.  Each child has reminded us of His power and grace.

God IS Love!!!

 

 

Last year I covered all 3 doors with compliment hearts and had planned a lower scale for this year thinking they had forgotten.  Well as daddy was tucking big sis in on the 13th, she asked him if he thought I would cover her door with hearts again.  Made me wish I had more paper but actually the one large one was a nice change.  Always good to keep them guessing!!

We both hand wrote words and phrases to describe each child.

 

We also prepared little treat bags to so them how special they are to us!

 

Yes, glue sticks get her that excited!!!

 

Daddy stills knows how to make my heart skip a beat!

 

Lil sis said that it felt like getting another stocking!

Remember they would most likely be happy with only stockings Christmas morning?

 

We met at school for another treat.

Brother's class was leading chapel every week for February and he was doing the reading for today.

 

 

Lil sis joined in on the praise songs...precious!

 

He did fantastic.  He is quiet but when he speaks he is super confident!

 

All bets for eating sweets are off for Valentine's Day!

 

These three are love beyond measure!
