Summer Basketball Camp

In an effort to keep the children active and entertained we found a few one day type camps for them.  Today was basketball camp both older children could participate in.

Lil sis caught a little action too!

The camp was led by a former Harlem Globetrotter that big sis got to see play a few years ago.
They both were super excited to participate.

Big sis was one of only two girls but she held her own very well.

Fun was had by all!!

1 D

Daddy works for a large company yet has made a difference.  His extra work in the community was recognized tonight when he got to take big sis to her very first concert.  They had box tickets to see One Direction!!  She was beside herself!  She invited a friend (and her dad) to come with her.  It was hard for all five not to go but allowing it to be her own experience was the right choice!

Two sweet friends met when they were 1 1/2 !
They had no idea what was ahead!

But it appears they loved it!
Awesome job daddy!!!

Football Camp

Today brother got to attend a football camp hosted by a form Pirate and NFLer.
He was very excited and had a blast.
Here are some action shots daddy got from the sidelines.

So awesome for these players to give back and allow these developing players learn from them.
So proud of my Bulldog for hanging tight!!

VBS 2013

Our church does an amazing job of reaching out to the children in our community through VBS.
This year we had over 600 children registered.
Big sis looks forward to singing on stage with the praise team.

 Backstage day one.

It is awesome to see her ( and others!) on stage singing praises to our Lord.
Her leader really did an awesome job getting the children into each song.
I will admit we enjoy the VBS music all years and for many years after VBS is over.

I enjoy getting to see my children throughout the morning.

On family night, we had a very special visitor.
Dan the Animal Man aka the Creature Preacher came to some us some of God's amazing creatures.
His passion is hard to match and the way he weaves the Gospel into his introduction of animals is hard to miss.  I had the opportunity to stay after with a few other directors and talk with him.
He is an amazing witness!
Thankful that my children know who their Lord is and are surrounded by fellow believers.

Atlantic Beach 2013

Just when I think it can't get better...it does.
Each year we go for a long week at the beach in early June to kick off summer.
Each year we have amazing weather.  This year a tropical storm was coming as we packed.
However, we had awesome weather all week!!

The children share our passion for the beach!
They could not wait to get out there!!
Our week was great.  We played on the beach a ton, swam in the pool, played inside
and visited the aquarium.

This was momma's amazing view...from under the umbrella!

We played games,

read,

and even slept a little.
Wondering if this was our last year with a child in our room?!?!

One day it was a bit windy so we went to the aquarium.

The otters are always a favorite attraction.

We were able to attend the program on sea turtles and get a closer look.

On the way to the condo we stopped for a little exercise.

Evening walks are the beach are hard to beat!

This handsome guy was happy to turn 7 1/2 while we were at the beach.  I can remember his very first trip to this very beach.  He has always enjoyed it!

Lil sis was able to show her grandparents her swimming ability!

It was so calm one day we let the children out without vests!

Brother and daddy took in a couple of Marlin games...an ECU player was on the other team!

Watching these three think, grow, learn and play together is such a joy!
