Greatest Gifts

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above..."
James 1:17

Today I was honored to celebrate with two of my three perfect gifts.

My morning started in brothers classroom with poems and

music and prayer.

I could not more proud of my son.  Not just because he is doing outstanding academically in school which was expected but because of his attitude.
He gets along with others, loves to learn, plays hard, obeys and thrives in the structure his school provides.  He will not admit he's top of his class or better than anyone but always compliments others.  He love Jesus and has asked him to be his Savior but isn't ready to make this public just yet.
He is cautious and quiet but speaks up for his sisters.
He is just all around awesome!!

My second stop was preschool.
I can hardly decide to smile or cry looking at this sweet, sweet girl God has given to us.

How can I be trusted with such a treasure?

Peanut

While big sis was at camp creating lifelong memories, her beloved Peanut died suddenly.
When I received the news Saturday morning, I wept.  Not for my sadness over his death but because I knew this would break her heart.  She is so passionate and sensitive.  Peanut was her friend.  She rode him.  Drew pictures of him.  Had a stuffed Peanut (which she took to camp!).  She just loved that horse like no other.  And to be honest, when they were together you could tell he loved her.
His eyes were expressive and light up when she spoke.

Daddy Daughter Camping

Sometimes you don't get a say.
Daddy was looking forward to camping with each of the older children this year...but might have picked for them to be separated by more than 5 days!
Nonetheless, he and big sis packed up for their third and final Spring Outing.
She was beside herself happy!

Third year tribes are challenged to build a raft for a race.  Without mentioning cost or the fact theirs had compressed air, I'll say big sis was ok they didn't advance in this competition.
Because around camp were hidden gnomes.  Plus a punch card to complete all activities.
Well this is right up her alley!  They shot, zipped, biked, canoed and all kinds of other fun!

Such a sweet picture!
Thank you Lord for our sweet, loving family!

Strawberry "Hunt"

Lil sis' class had a field trip to a local farm to pick strawberries.  She and her friends were calling it a strawberry hunt.  It was a dreary and cool day but we had the best time!

She as careful to pick ones that were ready.

And tasted a few to be sure!

Treasuring these preschool memories.

After homemade strawberry ice cream, we took the picnic to McDonalds.
She adores her class and I really enjoyed seeing her interact first hand.

Once we were home we had to make muffins with our fresh strawberries!!
